Truth for Today has a team of members, who enable the programme to be broadcast each week; they introduce themselves below

David Anderson

David lives in Newcastle on Tyne where he attends Edgefield Gospel Hall. He is married to Gillian and they have four adult children. David worked in the pharmaceutical active ingredients sector of the chemical industry for 40 years as an analytical chemist, a quality manager and then as a company director before becoming a consultant. For many years, he was involved in organising children's summer camps at Fenham Farm, Northumberland. He is currently involved in preaching and teaching amongst Brethren assemblies and conferences. He also works as a tutor for UK and overseas students with Emmaus Bible School correspondence courses.

Anthony Brett

Anthony is married to Margaret and they have two children, Nathanael and Abigail, both in their twenties. Anthony has worked in the furniture industry since leaving school when he was sixteen. He has been involved in Gospel preaching and Bible teaching since his late teens and for many years was involved with the children's club at his local assembly in Ipswich. Anthony and Margaret's children are also committed Christians involved with student and youth work.

Ian Britton

Ian lives near Ilkley on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales with his wife and two high school children. He works as an IT manager for the NHS. Ian trusted the Lord Jesus as his Saviour while he was still a young boy and has been preaching the Gospel since his late teens. Now in his late forties, he still enjoys being out in the fresh air but is waiting for the day when his children wait for him at the top of the hill rather than the other way round! He counts it a joy and a privilege to seek after God and to encourage others to do the same.

Ernie Brown

Ernie was born "between the wars" on Tyneside, which was then a major engineering production area. On leaving school, he received engineering training at a large engineering company there. On completion of his training, he served as a sea-going engineer with a major oil company for three years. The remaining years of his employment were spent with major energy supply companies in the North. Since retiring early from his secular employment, he has been engaged in Christian work in various parts of the UK, and occasionally abroad, as opportunity has arisen.

Cor Bruins

Cor was born in Apeldoorn, Holland but came to England for Bible College. While in England, he met and married his wife. Together they served the Lord for 10 years in Egypt and then for 10 years in Lebanon. During this time, with fellow-worker Adel Hajjazeen, Cor was able to see to the distribution of more than one million Bibles, New Testaments and calendars in the Arabic world (mainly Iraq). Forced to flee Lebanon when war broke out, he settled with his wife and family firstly in Ipswich and then near Leeds. During this time, he has been active in both oral and written ministry.

Yannick Ford

Yannick Ford lives with his wife, Rachel, and their four children in Kent, where he works as a scientist. Yannick enjoys reading and writing, and spending time with his family. He is a trustee of Scripture Truth Publications and writes for Scripture Truth magazine, and has also written one book, The Gospel in Job. It was through reading and re-reading the Epistle to the Romans that he found true peace, and he is keen for others to be blessed by God's Word too.

Arthur Hodgett

Arthur was born in Falkirk, Stirlingshire and moved around Britain as a child since his father was involved in ship building. He trained as an electrical engineer and spent his career in the nuclear power industry. Brought up in a Christian family, he came to know the Lord while he was young. He is now retired and lives with his wife in East Lothian, Scotland where most of his time is spent in the Lord's service. He is heavily involved in the technical side of the production of Truth for Today talks.

Gordon Hughes

Gordon was born in Carlisle but has lived in Liverpool for more than 50 years. He and his wife are the parents of four children but are now "empty nesters". For many years, he lectured in chemistry at Liverpool University and then took early retirement. This was to give him more time for Christian work. As well as local church commitments, this has involved writing and editing together with oral ministry, both locally and nationally.

Jonathan Hughes

Jonathan was born and brought up in Liverpool, where he still lives with his wife and three teenage and twenties children. He works for the NHS, testing blood samples in the local hospital biochemistry laboratory. He became a Christian as a child after hearing about the lost coin. At his local church, he is involved in the children's work and arranges teaching meetings for the younger believers there. He also helps to organise an annual conference aimed particularly at helping young believers. Walking, model making and historical fiction fills his spare time.

Gordon Kell

Gordon is much in demand as a Bible teacher, especially in dealing with practical subjects. He and his wife, June, a nurse, whom he married nearly 40 years ago, have long had an interest in helping and encouraging young Christians. They have one daughter and four grandchildren and live on the outskirts of Grimsby. He occasionally lectures at the New Tribes Mission and has broadcast on Truth for Today since its beginning.

Peter Ollerhead

On leaving school, Peter worked for Rolls Royce in Crewe for fourteen years as a detail draughtsman before making a career change into school teaching after obtaining a degree at Keele University. For almost thirty years, he taught at a large primary school in Stoke on Trent before retiring in 1998. During this time, he has been active in Sunday School work as well as preaching the Gospel to many local congregations. Other interests include hospital broadcasting, local history and dealing in books. Peter and his wife, Rose, have two children and one grandson.

Douglas Pettman

Douglas has always been a resident of north London. He qualified as a chartered accountant and did National Service with the army. His business years were spent first within the profession. This was followed by directorships of several companies in this country and abroad. He is now retired. He is still involved in various aspects of church life, particularly in support of missionary work around the world and at home.

David Pulman

David was born in 1945 in Newcastle upon Tyne. Most of his working life was in Information Technology-Networks for British Gas. He took early retirement in 1997 and now lives in a quiet rural setting in north Northumberland with his wife. They have three adult children. Since retiring, he has become more involved in Christian activities, including Truth for Today broadcasts, marking Emmaus Bible courses for foreign students and supporting his local Christian Brethren assembly.

George Stevens

George is a retired schoolteacher who lives in Ipswich. He became acquainted with the Lord from a young age attending a Baptist Sunday School and Young Sowers League. During his teenage years, he attended an Anglican church. He gained assurance of salvation in a Brethren assembly in Hounslow at about the age of twenty three. He has gone on to serve the Lord in a wide variety of ways including preaching and teaching.

Stephen Thomson

Stephen was born and spent his childhood in a small village on the coast near Edinburgh. He was brought up in a Christian family and put his trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour at an early age. He now lives in the Scottish borders with his wife and teenage children. He meets regularly with believers in that area as well as taking on some speaking engagements further afield. He is self-employed, working in the fresh food industry.
